THAILAND
In Thailand, history isn’t just found in the crumbling statues of Sukhothai or the ancient, weathered temples of Chiang Mai; it lives in the daily rituals of its people. It’s a place where the sacred is woven into the mundane: where monks in bright orange robes walk the morning streets for alms, and where the majority of men have at some point left their modern life to join the monkhood themselves, even if for a short time.
But Thailand is more than just its serene spirituality. It’s a country of breathtaking natural landscapes, from the limestone karsts of the southern islands to the emerald rice paddies and elephant sanctuaries of the north. It’s a land that moves to both the revving of a tuk-tuk engine and the silence of a meditation hall. In the capital of Bangkok, you’ll find a world where glass skyscrapers and luxury malls tower over tiny street food stalls serving those who live and work in their shadow.
This ongoing collection reflects my journey through the Land of Smiles: from the iconic landmarks that define the horizon to the quiet corners where you finally have the freedom to decompress.
