CAMBODIA
Cambodia is a country often reduced to a single famous silhouette, but I found that the true soul of Cambodia actually revealed itself when I stepped off the well-trodden paths. From the vibrant pop of orange from monks’ robes drying on a temple porch to the humid energy of a night market, buzzing with everything from local street food to endless racks of clothes, the magic is in the small moments.
But what truly defines Cambodia is the staggering, humbling resilience of its people. In the capital city of Phnom Penh, I was forced to confront the dark, heavy, and relatively recent history. To sit at a sidewalk café with a piping hot bowl of hand-made noodles alongside locals whose families survived the unimaginable, is to understand the true depth of the Cambodian spirit.
This is an ongoing collection sharing experiences from my time in the Kingdom of Wonder: from the overwhelming majesty of ancient empires to the quiet, everyday moments where Cambodia’s gentle heart reveals itself completely.
